Cameron Jarvis

Cameron Jarvis is an emerging artist based in St. Peter MN, where he attends Gustavus Adolphus College. He was born in 1992 to parents who immigrated to Minnesota from the Caribbean island of Antigua. Cameron grew up in the suburb of Cottage Grove, and was homeschooled through all 12 years of school. While in high school, Cameron studied with Minneapolis artists Gregory Rose and Joel Starkey. Cameron is now pursuing a double major in music performance and studio art at Gustavus Adolphus College.

Cameron has displayed at Tarnish & Gold gallery in Minneapolis, and has a permanent installation in the Culpeper Language Center at Gustavus.

Cameron works with acrylic and oil paint, blending pop art with realism. Engaging in an exploration of the world around him, he finds inspiration in music, pop culture, politics, and interactions with friends and family.



Betsy Byers

Betsy Byers holds a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Studies with an emphasis in painting from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.  She received her B.A. from St. Olaf College and her k-12 Art Education Licensure from St. Catherine University. Byers is currently an Assistant Professor at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. Before arriving at Gustavus, she taught at Minneaplis College of Art and Design, St. Catherine University and St. Cloud State University. Betsy’s work has been shown both nationally and internationally. In the Twin Cities, she has exhibited at the Minnesota Museum of American Art, Burnet Gallery in the Le Méridien Chambers Hotel, The Soap Factory, Augsburg College, The Phipps Center for the Arts and Intermedia Arts.  Byers was awarded a 2009 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant and a Jerome Foundation Grant for a month-long residency at the New York Mills Cultural Art Center. She is currently represented by the Kolman $ Pryor Gallery. Her paintings will be exhibited at the Devos Art Museum in Marquette Michigan June 7-August 4th.
